The Color Matching Guide is definitely a fabulous tool for beginner painters . . . . . and for intermediates and crafters as well. The Guide helps them learn color fundamentals and encourages artists to try new colors that they aren't very familiar with.
I also believe the Color Matching Guide is very useful for artists at all levels. I carry one with me and I refer to it regularly planning the colors for a new painting, looking at the viewing windows to see interesting color progressions and looking for new color ideas to move a composition along to a new level.
The Matching Guide is also very helpful in identifying colors and values when working from photos. Magazines and personal photos are used extensively in schools and studios from beginner through advanced artistry levels. The Matching Guide is also educational and fun during gallery tours to see what colors artists use in their works.
This little "art tool" is small and multi-purpose for ANYONE who cares about color, not only beginners and encourages people to think and talk about color..
